Color Me Mine

Last month, we went with Calvin, Haley, Becca and Blake to Color Me Mine in Provo.  You pick out a ceramic piece then sit down to paint it any way you want it, then then put it in their kiln and you pick it up finished a few days later!  Such a unique date night activity! It's a little expensive but it's a fun way to explore your creative side.  Here are pictures of us painting our masterpieces:

Calvin picked out a plate to paint a football field on.

Becca and Blake decided to paint a cookie jar:

I am painting a big Italian bowl and Mike chose coasters to put the BYU "Y" on:

The paint looks dull and not so pretty when it first goes on:

Calvin's football field is really coming together:

Blake putting dots on the cookie jar:

Everyone's semi-finished products, they're all ready to go in the kiln.

I didn't get pictures of everyone's finished products, but they all turned out so great! The colors come out really vibrant and bold, which makes it hard to imagine what the final result will look like.  I really love how Mike's and mine turned out.  We use these coasters all the time, they match our BYU blanket too!

I made this delicious cajun chicken pasta to put in my Italian pasta bowl:

It was such a fun night! If we go back, we'll choose smaller items, we really underestimated the time it would take to complete everything.  I think we were there for about 4 hours.  But if you have that much time to kill, go to Color Me Mine for a good time :)
